At one time, I believed the only type of dishcloth to use was a "J-Cloth". Once it reached the end of it's life, I would throw it out and use a new one. I'd cringe at the sight of a crocheted cloth! Don't know why...I just did. Well, I've grown up and I've discovered how wonderful it is to use a cotton knitted dishcloth! Extremely absorbent, very durable and alot of fun to whip up. They are a great evening project while watching television and very useful, therefore, I've decided to knit up a bunch to have on-hand as gifts. There are so many colors of cotton yarn available, but I must admit my favorites are white and a linen color.
There are also many free patterns on the internet; as well, there is a free pattern on the label of the yarn.
If you like to knit buy a ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarn ($1.88 at Walmart) and make yourself a dishcloth to try...you won't be disappointed.

Oh how I wish I knew someone who could make these! I always see them at friends houses, but have never actually had one. They are so cute :) I would like a pale yellow or orange to match my kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought of using knitted dishcloths! They almost look too pretty to use! A lovely addition to boring old washing up!
ReplyDeleteI have some knitted hot pads that I love, but haven't tried a dish cloth. Would love a chance to win one though. I love the white or olive green would be perfect too. They're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove these! They are so pretty. We use a brush and it drives me crazy because I never feel like its getting everything off!
ReplyDeleteI would love any natural earthy colors (tan, brown, ivory)
:)
I wish I could make these.. They are so cute!! I would like anything white or perhaps pink or pinks and whites.. aqua? I hate decisions.. lol
ReplyDeleteI would just be happy with any one of them..
Totally cute! I'd have to pick turquoise, because I always pick turquoise.
ReplyDeleteOH that sounds lovely! I like cream or yellow! I never thought to knit them, but what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love knitted dish cloth envy. I don't know how to knit. I would love linen color or aqua blue.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower to your blog, and love your stuff. I think giveaways are great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love knitted dish cloths. My MIL has a few (she's a knitter) and I'd never heard of, seen, or used "homemade dish rags" (what I used to refer to them as). But after using hers, and then finding out that the lady I work for has a few and using hers, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM.
If I were the blessed winner of your FANTASTIC giveaway, I would love them in white or cream.
Good luck to all the entries!
I love these! I don't know how to knit but I can crochet a little... anyway, they look so pretty and I bet they feel better than washcloths.
ReplyDeleteJust followed you :)

ReplyDeleteThey are really beautiful works of art. I'd have such a hard time using them. My mom crochets me hot pads and I hate getting them dirty, but I use them because she made them for me to use!!!
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried a knitted dishtowel before. time to give it a shot. i think I like blue since I have lots of messy kids to clean up after and it would not stain so bad.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! Thank you so much for offering such a lovely and generous giveaway. I would choose aqua and red.

Thanks for the give away .... i also would choose white, linen or a light tan.
ReplyDeleteOh I got some of these once as a gift and I literally used them for years! I would probably choose white so I can bleach them. (I know, boring) I don't know how to knit so this would be fun to win!
ReplyDeleteI'd love your dish cloths! I wish I could make them myself, however, I have zero talent in the knitting/crocheting department. I love white too.
ReplyDeleteI am more than happy to show up! Some of us don't know how to knit so that makes your giveaway even more special to me. I'd love green, like an old fashioned pale apple green.
ReplyDeleteHow Beautiful! Love them!
ReplyDeleteI would Love to be entered in your Giveaway to win your dishcloths. I'm in the brown and blue phase right now. Like a country blue, slate blue along that line. Thanks for the chance.
